- Backing Up and Restoring the Linksys ADSL Gateway's Settings
You can perform Backup and Restore of the Gateway's settings using a configuration file. Follow the guide below to use the Backup and Restore feature of an ADSL Gateway.
Accessing the Web-Based Utility of the Gateway
Launch the web browser on your computer and enter the Gateway's IP Address in the Address field. Then, press Enter.
NOTE: The default IP Address for Gateway is 192.168.1.1.
A login screen appears. Enter the default User name and Password of the device. The default user name and password for the Gateway is "admin".
Click OK to continue. The Basic Setup screen of the Gateway will appear.

Backing Up the Gateway's Settings
Click on the Administration tab. Next, click on Backup & Restore.
Click on the Back Up button and follow the on-screen instructions. The Gateway's settings will be saved in a configuration file.
Restoring the Gateway's Settings
NOTE: Before using this option, you must have previously backed up the Gateway's configuration settings.
Click on Browse to select the Gateway's configuration file.
Click on Restore and follow the on-screen instructions.
