How to navigate through your Linksys app

The Linksys app allows you to access the Linksys cloud account using your mobile device and gives you the option to make changes on your network settings similar to the way you do from a regular web browser.  This article will provide you with instructions on how to navigate through the Linksys app.

Upon first launching of the app, the Log in screen will be displayed.  Enter your Linksys cloud account credentials then tap Log in.

If you want to log in using your router admin password, tap Log in with Router Password at the bottom of the screen.  Enter your Admin Password in the next screen then tap Log in.

Upon logging in, the Dashboard screen will be displayed.  To know more about the parts of the Dashboard, click here.
 
NOTE:  The app will automatically log in the next time you access it until you tap Log Out from the Menu.

Accessing the Menu

The Menu screen displays the features available in the app.  It can be accessed by clicking the Menu User-added image icon on the upper left of the screen.

The following are the features available for access in the Menu:
  • Devices
  • Wi-Fi Settings
  • Guest Access
  • Parental Controls
  • Device Prioritization
  • Router Administration
  • Advanced Settings
    • Port Settings
    • MAC Filtering
  • Router Notifications (when logged in using a Linksys cloud account on selected routers)
  • Account/Log Out
  • Router List

Internet
The Internet icon displays if your device is online/offline.

Devices
The icon displays how many clients are connected to the network at the moment.

Wi-Fi Network
Displays the enabled wireless network names (SSIDs) of the associated router.

Tapping on Wi-Fi Network or the SSIDs will open the Wi-Fi Settings page.  Tapping the Share User-added image icon will give you the option to send your SSID and Password through Text Message or Email, or simply copy them.

Guest Access
Displays your current Guest Access information.  You can turn the Guest network ON or OFF by tapping the switch.  Like the Wi-Fi Network section, there is also a Share User-added image icon which you can tap to share your guest Network Name and Password through Text Message or Email, or simply copy them.

Parental Controls
Displays your current Parental Controls configuration including the devices that are configured.  You can turn the feature ON or OFF by tapping the switch.  It will display blue when ON and gray when OFF.  The circle on a device icon will be red when a schedule is active and orange when inactive.

Device Prioritization
Displays your current Device Prioritization configuration including the devices that are configured.  You can turn the feature ON or OFF by tapping the switch.  It will display blue when ON and gray when OFF.

If no devices were prioritized, it will display the following:

External Storage
Displayed only in the Dashboard and only when a USB drive is configured with your router.  It displays the space available on the external storage attached to your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop system.  It also displays FTP and Media Server status.

Up to two (2) partitions will appear on the Dashboard.  To configure storage settings, log in via a desktop browser.

Help

The Help section provides FAQs and general information useful for helping the user navigate the mobile app.

Account / Log Out
 
The Account option will be displayed if you logged in to the mobile app using your Linksys cloud account, and Log Out if you logged in locally by using the router’s password.

Router List
 
If your account is associated to multiple routers, you can manage them by tapping your router icon on the Menu.  This allows you to access your other routers’ settings through the mobile app, as well as disassociate a router from your account.
 
Tap the arrow next to the Router List icon.  The Router List will expand only if more than one (1) router is associated to your Linksys cloud account.  You can also disassociate an offline router from your Linksys cloud account (the router must be in offline mode).

A list of routers associated with your account will be displayed.  The router you’re currently connected to will show a check mark.  Tap another router icon under Connected Routers if you want to switch to another router.

The Edit option allows you to select an offline router and remove it from your Linksys cloud account in the event that you no longer own this router or you may need to associate the router to a different account.
