Overview of the Devices feature of your Linksys app for your Velop system

The Devices settings on your Linksys app for Velop gives you information on the devices connected to your network.

How to access the Devices list
Step 1:
Log in to the Velop Dashboard.  For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Tap the Menu User-added image icon.
Step 3:
Tap Devices.  You will then be taken to the Devices section.

  • Each device will display either a Wi-Fi User-added image icon or an ethernet User-added image icon showing what type of connection the device is currently using to connect to the node.  
NOTE:  Wi-Fi clients will also display the Wi-Fi name and the band that the device is connected to.
  • Devices with a lock User-added image icon are devices that have Parental Controls configured.  Devices with up and down arrows User-added image icon are devices that have Device Prioritization configured.  
  • Guest clients appear under the Connected Guest Devices section.

Tap a device to view or edit specific device information.

  • Change Icon - Tap on the device icon to select a new device icon.
  • Change a device name - Tap the name of the device to change the device name, e.g., AirPad.
  • Wi-Fi name - Displays the Wi-Fi name and radio band that the client is connected to, e.g., CAVELOPHOME (5GHz).
  • Node name - Underneath the Wi-Fi name, you will see the name of the node that it’s connected to e.g., Office. 
NOTE:  To change the name of your node/s, go to Velop Administration using the Linksys app.  For more information, click here.
  • Device Prioritization - Displays whether Device Prioritization is Off or On for this device.  For more information, click here.
  • Parental Controls - Displays if Parental Controls is Off or On for this device, tap on the User-added image icon to make changes.  For more information, click here.
  • IP Address - View the IP address of the client.  You can also tap Reserve DHCP to reserve an IP address (e.g., to be used for port forwarding).
  • MAC Address - Displays the MAC address of the client.
