Overview of the Devices feature of the Linksys WRT32X

The Devices setting page of the Linksys WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Gaming Router with Killer Prioritization Engine displays your connected wireless and hardwired clients to your router.

It is important that from time to time you view the connected devices to ensure that only those allowed to have access to your network are there.  If your Wi-Fi is unsecured, there could be other unsolicited users that can infiltrate your connection or utilize your network’s bandwidth.

This article will give you an overview of the Devices settings on the Linksys WRT32X.

NOTE:  The Devices settings can be accessed by clicking Devices on the left side of the screen.

Device Name column

This section lets you see what devices are connected to your router and how they are connected.  It allows you to do the following:
  • Displays connected clients
  • Displays clients by connection type (wired User-added image or wireless User-added image)
  • Displays which radio band your wireless client is connected to (5 GHz or 2.4 GHz)

  • Displays wired devices

  • Displays Guest clients

NOTE:  Clicking the User-added image icon gives you the option to edit the device name.

IP Address column

This column displays the IP address of the client.  

QUICK TIP:  To reserve an IP address for a device, go to Router Administration > Static IP Reservations.

Priority column

Sorts out devices by priority and automatically displays Killer-enabled computers/laptops with the Killer icon.  You will need to configure Prioritization first in order to see the prioritized symbols below (High, Normal, Low)

 
User-added image - Killer-enabled device (A computer/laptop that has a supported Killer networking adapter)
User-added image - High Priority device
User-added image - Normal Priority device (this is the default queue for all clients until you decide to prioritize your clients into other queues in the Prioritization page)
User-added image - Low Priority device
