Changing the Wi-Fi name on a Linksys access point

Changing the Wi-Fi name of your Linksys access point is one way of securing your Wi-Fi.  To know how, follow the steps below: 

NOTE:  When configuring the access point to communicate with your router, it is recommended that your access point's Wi-Fi name should be the same as your router.

Step 1:
Access the web-based setup page of the Linksys access point.  For instructions, click here.

QUICK TIP:  If you are using Mac®, click here

Step 2:
Enter your Wi-Fi name on the SSID field. 

NOTE:  Image may vary depending on your access point's version or model number.  In this example, Linksys WAP54G v2 is used.

Step 3:

Click Save Settings.

You now have successfully changed the Wi-Fi name of your Linksys access point.
