- Checking the Cable Modem’s LEDs
The Linksys modem’s front panel indicates the status of the connection. The lights at the front panel are:
Ethernet or USB
Cable and Activity
NOTE: The image may vary depending on the port for the computer will be used.
To check the Cable modem’s LEDs, follow these steps:
Make sure that the Power LED is lit.
NOTE: If the Power LED is not lit, make sure that the power adapter is properly connected and that the modem is powered ON. If the Power LED is blinking whenever you plug-in the power adapter to your Cable modem, click here.
Make sure that the Ethernet LED is lit.
NOTE: If the Ethernet LED is not lit, make sure that the computer is powered ON. You can also try connecting the computer using another working Ethernet Cable.
Make sure that the Cable and Activity LED are lit.
NOTE: If the Cable LED is not lit, make sure that the coaxial cable line is properly connected to the Cable port.
Make sure the green Internet LED is lit. If the Internet LED is blinking, click here.
NOTE: If you’re using the USB port connection, make sure the USB LED is lit. If the USB LED is not lit, make sure that the Cable modem is properly configured.
