Configuring a Linksys WUMC710 through the web-based setup page

The Linksys Wireless-AC Wi-Fi 5GHz Universal Media Connector Bridge with 4-Port Switch, WUMC710 allows wired Ethernet-based devices to connect to your network and access the Internet wirelessly.

This article will guide you on how to install your wireless-AC bridge using the web-based setup page.  For instructions, follow these steps:

i.    Checking the wireless settings of the router
ii.   Configuring the media connector

Checking the wireless settings of the router

The Linksys WUMC710 media connector’s and the wireless router’s settings should match in order for them to connect.  You must first identify the following wireless settings of your router:

      •    Wireless Network Name (SSID) 
      •    Wireless Security Mode (WPA/WPA2 Personal or WEP)
      •    Network Key or Passphrase

NOTE:  If you’re using a non-Linksys wireless router, refer to your router's documentation or contact your router manufacturer for support.

Configuring the media connector

Step 1:
Access the Linksys WUMC710’s web-based setup page.  To learn how, click here.

Step 2:
Click on the Wireless tab.

 

Step 3:
Set the radio button to Manual then enter your router’s Network Name (SSID) based on your router's wireless settings.

 

Step 4:
Select the Security Mode that matches your router's wireless settings.

NOTE:  For more information about setting up your router’s wireless security, click here.

 

Enter the passphrase or network key based on your router's security settings.

WEP

 

WPA Personal

 

WPA2 Personal

 

Step 5:
Click Save Settings.

Step 6:
Click on Status > Wireless Network.

 

The Link Status should say Connected and the Network Name (SSID) should display your wireless network’s SSID.

The bridge should now be synchronized with the router.  You can now connect the Linksys WUMC710 to any of your Ethernet-enabled device using an Ethernet cable.
