- Checking and configuring the IP address of Linksys WUMC710
This article will show you how to check and configure the IP address of your Linksys Wireless-AC WI-Fi 5GHz Universal Media Connector Bridge with 4-Port Switch (WUMC710).
IMPORTANT: When not connected to a network with a DHCP server, the default IP addresses of your Linksys media connector is 10.100.1.1. You can only use this if the WUMC710 is connected directly to your computer.
However, if your media connector is connected to a network through a DHCP server, follow these steps:
NOTE: The Linksys E4200 router is used in the example below.
Access the web-based setup page of your router. For instructions, click here.
Click the Status tab.
Click on the Local Network sub-tab then click on the DHCP Client Table button.
The DHCP Client Table window will open. Look for your device in the Client Name tab then take note of the media connector’s IP address. Click Close to exit the window.
QUICK TIP: You can also check the DHCP Client Table using Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account, click here for instructions.
Open the media connector’s browser-based utility. For instructions, click here.
Click on Setup then click the Basic Setup sub-tab.
To manually configure your media connector’s network settings, select Static IP and enter the following:
- Static IP address: Enter the device’s IP address and make sure that it is on the same Local Area Network (LAN) segment as the router.
- Subnet Mask: Enter the Subnet Mask, which should match the subnet mask of the router. The default subnet mask is “255.255.255.0”.
- Gateway: Enter your router’s IP address. The default IP address of a Linksys router is “192.168.1.1”.
Click to apply changes.
