Accessing your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi through a web browser

The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi is a free service bundled with the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers.  After setting up your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, you can easily access it wherever there is an Internet connection by using a Linksys cloud account and associating your router to it.  

IMPORTANT:  To avoid any issues with accessing the router using your Linksys cloud account, make sure that the router’s firmware is up-to-date.  Click here to learn more about checking the firmware version of your router.  To learn how to manually upgrade a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router's firmware, click here.

You can access your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi using any of the following:
 

Local Access
Remote Access


NOTE:  Your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi is accessible via web browsers in Windows®, Mac® and iPad®.  To know more about the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi system requirements, click here.  Another option is to access it through a mobile device via the Linksys app.  For more information about the app, click here.
 

Local Access
 
Follow the steps below to learn how to access your router locally. 

Step 1:
Launch a web browser.
 
Step 2:
Enter your router’s default IP Address, 192.168.1.1, or type myrouter.local in the Address bar then press [Enter].
 
 
QUICK TIPS:
  • If the IP Address does not work or if it has been changed, check your Linksys router's IP Address.  For instructions, click here.
  • If you encounter a bad gateway error upon trying to access your router, click here for troubleshooting instructions.
Step 3:
Enter your Router Password then click Log in.  The default password is admin.  If you have changed it, enter the new password instead.
 
 
Alternatively, you can also log in using your Linksys cloud account.  Just click the link provided at the bottom part.

When the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Sign In page appears, enter your Email Address and Password instead then click Log in.
 
 
QUICK TIPS:
  • If you haven’t created, activated or associated an account to your router, click here to learn how.
  • If you encounter several failed log in attempts, this may lead to your account being temporarily suspended.  In case you can’t remember your password, you may opt to perform a password reset.  To learn more about this, click here.
The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi home page will now appear.  You can now access and configure everything under the Smart Wi-Fi Tools and Router Settings.  Learn more by clicking here.

NOTE:  The Device List is displayed as the Network Map Tool on some of the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers.  The External Storage is displayed as USB Storage among Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers with older firmware version.
 
Remote Access
 

Accessing your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi remotely allows you to manage your wireless home network so you can specify or modify your router settings securely anytime, anywhere.  Follow the steps below to learn how:
 
Step 1:
Launch a web browser and enter “linksyssmartwifi.com” in the Address bar then press [Enter].
 
Step 2:
Enter your Email Address and Password in the fields provided then click Log in.
