Accessing the router’s web-based setup page using a Mac® computer

Linksys routers and access points have built-in web-based setup pages that will let you customize settings and set up advanced properties.  This feature may be used to check, configure and modify settings on the device manually.

When do I access the web-based setup page?
 
While you have the option to use the software that came with your router or access point, accessing the web-based setup page is necessary if you encounter the following issues while installing or configuring:
  • Setup software is not working
  • Advance configuration is required for certain applications
  • Checking of local and wireless settings 
How do I access the web-based setup page?

Accessing the web-based setup page can be done using any of your computer or web browsers.  This article will guide you on how to access the router’s web-based setup page using a Mac® computer.  

IMPORTANT:  The following must be available before proceeding with the steps below:
  • Mac computer connected to your router

  • IP address of the router
  • Router User name and Password
    NOTE:  To learn how to check the router’s IP address using a Mac computer, click here.
Step 1:
Launch your computer’s web browser such as Safari® or Firefox®.

Step 2:
Enter the router's IP address in the Address bar and press Return.

 
 
NOTE:  The default IP address of Linksys routers is 192.168.1.1.

Step 3:
Enter your router’s Name and Password when prompted and click Log In to continue.

NOTE:  If you have not changed the name and password of your router, leave the Name field blank and enter “admin” in the Password field.
