Accessing the Linksys RE7000’s web-based setup page

The Linksys RE7000 Max-Stream™ AC1900+ Wi-Fi Range Extender is the latest range extender from Linksys with 802.11ac Technology.  It can easily extend your wireless network to hard-to-reach locations in your home.
 
This article will guide you on how to access your Linksys RE7000’s web-based setup page. 
 
Step 1:
Open a web browser.
 
Step 2:
Do one of the following methods to log in to the Linksys RE7000’s web-based setup page:
 
i.  Enter http://extender.linksys.com in the Address bar.
 
NOTE:  You must be connected to the SSID of the Linksys RE7000.      

ii.  Enter "http://RE7000-xxx" for Windows users, where xxx are the last three (3) characters of the Linksys RE7000’s MAC address.  The MAC address is located at the back label of the device.
 
NOTE:  If you changed your Linksys RE7000 name, then you will need to use the custom name (eg. http://MyAP).

iii.  Enter "http://RE7000-xxx.local" for Mac® users, where xxx are the last three (3) characters of the Linksys RE7000’s MAC address.  The MAC address is located at the back label of the device.
                       
NOTE:  If you changed your Linksys RE7000 name, then you will need to use the custom name (eg. http://MyAP.local).
 
iv.  Enter the Linksys RE7000’s IP address.​
 
NOTE:  If the Linksys RE7000 does not detect a DHCP server, the default IP address is 192.168.1.1 otherwise you will need to look up your range extender’s IP address in the DHCP table.  To know how to do this using a Linksys Wi-Fi Router, click here.  If you are using a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, click here.
 
QUICK TIP:  Some options may not be available in Access Point mode due to the design and functionality as an access point.
 
Step 3:
You will be prompted for an administrative Password.  If you have changed your password, enter your customized password.  Otherwise, enter the default “admin” on the appropriate field then click Login.
