1.  How do I set up the Linksys CM3008?

2.  How do I install my modem with my existing Linksys router?

ADVANCED CONFIGURATION

1.  I connected my computer directly to the modem, and I can't get online.  What should I do?

You can contact Linksys support to verify the physical connection, the LED activity / status, and the IP settings.  If a Linksys support agent has identified that there are no issues on the Linksys device, you may be referred to contact your ISP for further assistance.

2.  Do I need to use a router?

3.  I can get online with my computer connected directly to the modem but when I use my Linksys router, I am unable to go online.  What should I do?

4.  I can get online with my computer connected directly to the modem but when I use my non-Linksys router, I am unable to go online.  What should I do?

Do the following diagnostic procedures:
  • Turn OFF your computer, router and modem.  Turn ON your modem first and wait for the Status light to turn solid.  Do the same procedure on the router and then the computer after. 
  • Ensure that the cables are functional and are connected properly.
If you are still unable to go online, you may need to verify or change some of your router settings.  Contact your router's support line for assistance.

5.  My modem has been working and now I can’t get online, who do I contact first?

Contact your ISP to verify any outages in your area.

6.  Can I exchange my modem if there are any problems through Linksys?

Yes.  However, ensure to first contact your ISP to troubleshoot any Internet connectivity problems.

7.  I have a static Internet Protocol (IP) Address provided by my Internet Service Provider (ISP), how do I configure that with my modem?
