1. What is the Linksys Skill? 
 
The Linksys Skill for Alexa allows you to ask Wi-Fi information from any Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop system.  It also controls the Guest Network.
 
2. What are the requirements in using the Linksys Skill? 
 
Below are the product requirements in using the Linksys Skill for Alexa:
  • A Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop system with remote access enabled.
  • Alexa mobile app must be installed and working with your Amazon Echo™, Amazon Tap or Amazon Echo Dot.
  • An active Linksys cloud account.  To set up an account, click here.
  • The Linksys Skill enabled within the Alexa app.
  • A working Internet connection.
3. What Linksys Skills or commands can I ask Alexa?
 
You can ask Alexa for the following information of your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop system:
  • Get Wi-Fi credentials
  • Get Guest Wi-Fi credentials
  • Turn ON / OFF Guest Network (also offers to read credentials)
  • Enable / Disable Skill
  • Help, i.e. “Alexa, ask Linksys what I can do” and Alexa reads off the above Skills
4. How do I ask Alexa using the Linksys Skill?
 
You must start off with the triggering words, “Alexa, ask Linksys…” and followed by the Skills.  An example is “Alexa, ask Linksys what is my Wi-Fi password?”.
 
5. Will Alexa be able to control all of my Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers and Velop system?
 
No.  If you have more than one Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop system, Alexa will only control the most recently associated with your Linksys cloud account.
 
SETUP & INSTALLATION
 
1. How do I enable the Linksys Skill in the Alexa app?
 
To enable the Linksys Skill, the Alexa app must already be installed and working with your Amazon Echo™, Amazon Tap or Amazon Echo Dot.  The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop system must also be setup, online and associated to a Linksys cloud account.  To learn how to enable the Linksys Skill, click here.
 
TROUBLESHOOTING
 
1. What should I do when Alexa says, “I'm sorry, I don't know how to help you with that.”?
 
You need to check if your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop system is associated to the Linksys cloud account.
 
2. What should I do when Alexa says, “Associate a Linksys product with your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account and ask again.”?
 
Associate your router to your Linksys cloud account.  To learn how to associate the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router to your Linksys cloud account, click here.
 
3. What should I do when Alexa says, “There was an error processing your request.  Your account is not currently available.”?
 
The cloud may be currently down. Check if you can log in to the Linksys cloud account.
 
4. What should I do if the commands are not working?
 
You can try to disable the Skill and re-enable it again.  To do this, follow the steps below:

 
Step 1:
Launch the Alexa app.
 
Step 2:
Tap on the Home menu, then choose Skills.
 
Step 3:
Tap on Your Skills at the top-right corner of your screen.
 
Step 4:
Enter “Linksys” in the search field and it will display a description of the Linksys app.
 
Step 5:
Tap Disable Skill button, then tap again to re-enable.
