Changing the Administrator password of the Linksys CG7500

The modem router’s administrator password is used to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing the web-based setup page of your Linksys CG7500 AC1900 Wi-Fi Cable Modem Router and changing any of its settings. 
Linksys modem routers use admin as the default administrator password.  All the computers and some wireless mobile devices such as tablets that are connected to the modem router have the capability of accessing the web-based setup page.  It is recommended to change the administrator password to avoid unwanted access.
We will walk you through changing the administrative password of your Linksys CG7500 in four easy steps:
Step 1:
On a computer or device connected to your modem router, launch a supported browser, enter “” in the Address bar and then press [ENTER].
Step 2:
On the screen that opens, enter the current modem router’s login Password then click Log in.
NOTE:  The default administrator password is admin.  If you’ve already modified the password, use that instead.  If you’ve forgotten your password, you will need to reset the modem router to factory settings and reinstall it.  For instructions on how to set up the Linksys CG7500, click here.

Step 3:
Select the Configuration tab then click on the Administration > Password sub-tab.
Step 4:
On the screen that opens, enter your Old Password then enter the New Password and confirm it.  Click Save once done.

You have now successfully changed the administrator password of your modem router.
