Scenario:  What can I connect to the USB port of my Linksys MX5300?

You can connect an external storage device to the USB port of the Linksys MX5300 Velop AX Whole Home WiFi 6 System to share the entire drive on your network.  Below are the supported file formats:

  • Windows® - NTFS, FAT32
  • Mac® - APFS, HFS+, and FAT32

The storage device must be formatted properly for the node to recognize it.  To learn how to format your USB device for Mac, click here and for Windows, click here.

NOTE:  The USB port on the Linksys MX5300 is suitable only for connecting storage devices.  The USB port will not work with printers, scanners or other peripherals.

Do the following troubleshooting tips:
  • Check if the drive can be detected on your computer
  • Log out of the Linksys app and log back in
  • Reboot the Linksys MX5300
  • For a hard drive with multiple partitions, make sure all partitions have the supported file formats.
