Light behavior of the Linksys MR9000

The Linksys MR9000 Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 5 Router has a single light on top that indicates the status of the router, its connection to the internet, and the status of the Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) pairing.  The lights on the LAN and WAN ports at the back of the router also describe the connection between the router and devices connected to it.  This article provides the different light behavior of the Linksys MR9000 and their meaning.
 


The tables below show the corresponding activities and descriptions of the lights on the Linksys MR9000.

Top Light

 
Light Description
Status
Blue (blinking)
Starting up.  Wait for the router to finish starting up.
Purple
Ready for setup.  Open the Linksys app to complete the setup.
Purple (blinking)
Setup is in progress.  Follow the instructions in the app.
Blue
Connected to the internet.  The router is online, and everything is good.
Red
No internet connection.  Check with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for service interruptions.
Red (blinking)
Not plugged in to the modem.  Make sure your router is firmly connected to the modem.

WPS Pairing Light

Press the WPS button on the side to activate WPS pairing.
