  • Security Type - Tap this option to make changes to your security settings.  The choices are WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Personal, WPA3 Personal Only, WPA2 Personal or Open.  The default security type (WPA2™ Personal) is recommended.

NOTE:  If you consider using WPA3 Personal Only, all your devices must support WPA3™ including your routers on child mode.  If the devices do not support it, they will not be able to connect.  Some devices may not be able to connect with WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Personal.  If you run into this problem, just change it back to WPA2 Personal.

  • Wi-Fi Mode - Mixed mode is the only supported option.
  • Channel Finder - This feature will investigate each router in your network to find the channel with the least amount of traffic and will make the changes.

Tap on Scan Channels.

All devices will be disconnected temporarily during the scan.  If you are already using the best channels, there will be no changes.

  • Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) –   This option is turned OFF by default.  DFS enables your Wi-Fi to use the 5 GHz frequencies that are generally reserved for radar systems.  When enabled, the router can expand the channel width from the traditional 20/40/80 MHz to 160 MHz.

NOTE:  If you have routers on child mode within your network that do not support DFS channels, you should not turn ON this feature on the parent router.  Otherwise, your routers on child mode will not be able to connect to your network.  If you have client devices that do not support DFS channels, those devices will end up connecting to your 2.4 GHz band instead.  For a list of routers with DFS feature, click here
