Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a difference router This router is difference from what I'm use to. The traditional antenna router that I have had all my life. First this is design to be use as a mesh system for sure. The coverage of the router by it self it is less than my current router but this is where the extender and the mesh system make it complete difference system. By adding extender is like having multiple routers working as one. I have try difference extender in the past but always get some type of interference. This mesh system its excellent. Supper fast speed. The extender are well price and at the end you speed and coverage is amazing. I recommend this %100. Average user should definitely consider this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast WiFi 6 Speeds and Easy Setup Been running the MX4200 for about a week and am very happy with the performance. I replaced a Linksys MR9000 router with the MX4200 as the parent node in my Velop Mesh. Setup was quick and easy following the instructions provided by Linksys to replace an existing router. All devices migrated to the new network and my older WHW03 node joined the mesh with just a reset. As expected, the biggest speed increase has been with my WiFi 6 capable smartphone. Older devices are working well at about the same speed as they did on the old setup. Overall, the MX4200 looks like a good way to join the WiFi 6 environment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great speed - bad parental control for Apple dev. I bought the system and the speeds and coverage is very good, the system is also reliable and does not require frequent restarting. The system also switches smoothly between the different nodes to ensure proper performance no matter where one is in the house. The only but really frustrating aspect is the parental control for Apple devices, they just do not work! Even MAC address filtering seems to be not working for Apple devices. One Windows computer they seem to work just fine, or on the Nintendo Switch, but iOS or Mac OS has the ability to completely ignore any filtering (yes I do have the latest firmware) My older AT&T WIFI has no problem controlling any device Mac, iOS ....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fast router with great range and features! I have really enjoyed this router. This has all of the features of my WRT3200AC, but has mesh capabilities. 1. It looks nice in the house, and not like a piece of IT equipment. 2. The speed capabilities are quite good. The 802.11AX is very fast when I tested it with some file transfers from my server here. 3. Setup was incredibly easy using the Linksys app on my phone. I had it setup in less than 5 minutes, and if I had more Velop units I could have had them added to the mesh within minutes. I would recommend this router to anyone interested in WiFi6 and using a mesh network!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Setup This is one of the easiest routers to set up and get running. Using the Linksys App will find it right away and get your started on setting up this router for your household. One of the things I like most about this router is how it looks and sits as oppose to the traditional looking routers. It requires a lot less space, it looks nice and can be blended into your décor with ease. I was able to fit it in a lot more convenient place than my old router. It is able to handle a lot of devices in a modern household, everything seems "smart" now a days and this can handle the network load with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice looking and performing addition to network I recently added this to our home network and am impressed with the performance. Not only is this a very good looking and solidly built unit. This was added as a child node to our Linksys MR9600 router as well as a few other Linksys routers that are cascaded from the MR9600. Set up was as easy as the directions indicated. I opened up the Linksys app and in a few minutes it was linked wirelessly to the network. The directions did state that placement should be no more than two rooms away so I placed it temporarily in the kitchen. I am getting a nice strong signal two rooms away and have posted some pics to show. It is as strong as the main router so coverage is great in our two story house. I haven’t decided on final placement yet and may try linking with an ethernet cable unless I need a signal in our guest room/spare office. So overall, this is a great product, easy to set-up, and reliable performing. I would consider adding another node as I plan to also upgrade my speed with the cable company soon. I highly recommend the Velop node.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Underwhelmed I was given this unit to review and found the overall performance comparable in most respects to the MR8300 Linksys unit it replaced. I was expecting a noticeable difference. Setup, following the instructions explicitly, did not work. I had to contact tech support which guided me through setup of both the AX4200 as well as relinking to an existing Linksys extender. Prior to installation I verified signal strength and both download and upload speeds in 8 locations throughout my home. Once installed, signal strength indicated strong in all locations, and upload speeds were nearly identical with the previous router. Download speeds, however, were dramatically better in the two locations closest to the new router--358 vs. 79.6 and 299 vs. 29. Download speeds in the other 6 locations were modestly better. In spite of this I have witnessed occasional buffering that I did not experience with the MR8300, and really have not noticed any practical improvement with daily use, though I have only had it for a couple of weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Wifi6 Mesh Router for pre-wired houses Reason I chose this product * Ethernet Backhaul * Cheaper than Velop MX5 * Same Linksys Smart Wifi software I have a pre-wired house that need high speed internet for all 3 floors and exterior. On some of the floors I have to place the router on the side of the house, which will waste some of the coverage. I got 4 units from Costco and it works great in my situation. No doubt the MX5 may have better numbers in some areas, but in my case, I need more unit to cover the entire space. I got 4 units for $600 from Costco, which was a pretty good deal. That price could only get me the 2 units MX10. I don't like the fact it doesn't have fixed wireless backhaul. But again in my case, I have pre-wired ethernet ports. So that's not a problem for me. Also, I've been using the WRT series for years. This unit uses exactly the same user interface. It really works out of the box for me. Things that need improvement, * Parent Control is over simplified. My Verizon modem has better features. * Not a lot of power user features/options.
