The Linksys range extender will only work if its wireless settings match the router’s/access point’s wireless settings. The following should be done before setting up your range extender:
Identify the router/access point’s wireless settings
There are four (4) wireless settings that you need to identify on your router or access point before setting up your Linksys range extender.
Reset the range extender
This process is optional. You do not have to reset your Linksys range extender if it is a new device or you just recently purchased it. To reset the range extender, press and hold the Reset button located at the top panel of the range extender for five (5) seconds to restore its factory default settings.
Connect the computer to the range extender
Connecting the range extender to the computer enables you to access the web-based setup page for manual configuration. However, it is recommended to use a wired connection to ensure stable performance. To do this, connect the range extender to the computer using an Ethernet cable.
