This article will guide you in checking whether the wireless adapter of your Mac computer has the 5 GHz network band capability.
Step 1:
Click the Apple icon.
Step 2:
Select About this Mac.
Step 3:
Click the More Info… button.
Step 4:
Select Airport and then check Supported PHY Modes.
In this example, the Supported PHY Modes indicate that the Mac computer supports 802.11a/b/g/n wireless standards. This means that the computer has the 5 GHz network band capability.
