Setting up the Linksys WUSB6100M

Setting up your Linksys WUSB6100M is quick and easy. You can install the drivers automatically via Windows® update. The Linksys WUSB6100M adapter supports Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 operating systems only. Windows 8 is NOT supported.
 
In this example, Windows 10 operating system is used.

Follow the steps below to know how to set up the Linksys WUSB6100M.
 
1. Insert the Linksys WUSB6100M adapter into an available USB port on your computer.
 
On the notification area, you will see the Installing device driver software message once your computer has detected and is installing your adapter’s driver.
   
2. Once the driver is installed, click the WiFi  icon on the system tray of your Desktop screen and select your WiFi name.
 
If you have a dual-band router, it is recommended to connect your adapter to the 5 GHz band for higher speed.

3. Click Connect. If you wish to connect to the network automatically upon startup, check Connect automatically.
 
4. Enter your network security key or passphrase and then click Next.
 
You will be asked if you want to enable network discovery between the devices in your network. If you are setting up a home or work network, select Yes.
 
The WiFi icon on the system tray will change to , indicating it is now connected to your network with the internet. If there is no internet connection, the icon displayed will be .
 
If you didn’t see any changes or messages that the adapter is being installed, check the Device Manager to see if the adapter is installed successfully.
