Malware and Phishing Help

Linksys Shield is being discontinued. Current  subscribers can continue to use the service until July 31st 2024. New subscriptions or renewals will no longer be available.

The Malware and Phishing blocking is enabled by default when you subscribe and use the Linksys Shield feature. To disable it (not recommended), tap the User-added image button beside the Malicious Websites category.

This feature will protect your WiFi from multiple types of attacks:

  1. Known bad websites – Linksys Shield draws on reputation services to block spam/phishing, compromised websites, malicious files, and malicious mobile apps.
  2. Anomaly detection – Senses significant changes in traffic patterns on your network and terminates connections.
  3. Intrusion protection – Detects and stops a wide variety of attacks by terminating connections.
  4. Internet of Things (IoT) Security – Uses reputation services to prevent connection between your smart devices and known bad servers or services.

If you want to access a website that the Linksys Shield is blocking because it is classified as malware or a phishing scam, you have to turn OFF the Malicious Websites blocking (Linksys does not recommend this).
