The storage device must be formatted properly for the node to recognize it. Follow these steps to learn how to format your USB device using a Mac® or Windows® computer.

The USB port on Linksys Mesh routers is suitable only for connecting storage devices. The USB port will not work with printers, scanners, or other peripherals.

Scenario: My external storage device has the correct file format, but it still says "unsupported".

Do the following troubleshooting tips:

  • Check if the drive can be detected on your computer.
  • Log out of the Linksys app and log back in.
  • Reboot the router or node.
  • For a hard drive with multiple partitions, make sure all partitions have the supported file formats.
