Overview of the Linksys app dashboard for iOS mobile devices

The Linksys app dashboard is your router's homepage. You can log in to the Linksys app to see the internet connection status, the number of devices connected to the network, and other features to help you manage your home WiFi.

FeatureDescription
WiFi name and internet connection statusThe dashboard will display the node's WiFi name and the status of the internet connection whether it is online or offline.

This section displays the number of clients and nodes that are connected to your network. Tap on DEVICE/S to manage your devices.

If the network status is online yet there is a red outline on the node, this means that a child node is offline.

Tap on NODE/S to take you to the Network Administration section where you can select the offline node and remove it or go through a set of steps to diagnose or reconnect the node. This section also displays the total of nodes connected to your network.

The dashboard will also show you if your network is in bridge mode.
Internet Speed

The Internet Speed feature is also on the dashboard. You can tap on it to check the internet connection speed and the result will be displayed on the dashboard.

If your upstream router supports this, tap on Go to run a speed test.

To run another test, just tap on Internet Speed.

The speed test feature is a helpful feature that measures the download and upload speeds of your WiFi. Speeds can vary depending on many factors, including how many devices are connected to your WiFi and what those devices are doing. A speed test is a good way to find out whether you are getting the level of service provided by your internet service provider (ISP). Internet connection speeds are determined by a variety of factors, including your internet connection type, local and worldwide internet traffic, and the number of devices in your home that are sharing the internet connection.

Download speed - the rate at which internet content is transferred to your network

Upload speed - how quickly you can upload content to the internet

Ping (latency) - the amount of time it takes data to travel from your ISP’s servers to your network in milliseconds (ms)

Once you enter this section, a speed test will automatically begin. To stop the speed test, simply tap on the menu icon on the top left-hand side. To test the speed of the router with WiFi security enabled, Linksys suggests using the WPA2™-Personal encryption option. This is a hardware-based encryption protocol and will provide the best test results.

Some routers do not support this feature. For such routers, you will be prompted to run a speed test using www.speedtest.net.

The dashboard will also show the last five clients who have connected or are currently connected to the network along with their online/offline status, their signal strength, and the radio band they're connected to.
