Velop Tips

Velop is an Intelligent Mesh Wi-Fi System that is made up of modular nodes, which work seamlessly together to fit the needs of any home and deliver flawless Wi-Fi wherever you want it.

Below are some tips to help you with the installation and performance of your Velop.

Installation Tips
  • When setting up your secondary node, place it next to the primary node to avoid any syncing issues during setup.  Once the secondary node has completed setup, you may take it to another room to establish or improve the Wi-Fi connection there.
  • In moving each secondary node, it is best to position it close to another node first.  Then, move it farther away.  While finding the preferred location for the node, the connection is fine so long as the light on top of the node displays blue.
Performance Tips
  • Make sure your Velop nodes are displaying a blue light on the top.  This will ensure all nodes are performing at optimal potential.  For more information on the Velop light behavior, click here.
  • A yellow light on the secondary node could be due to poor connection to the primary node.  Use the Channel Finder feature in the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app to optimize the performance of the Velop system.  You can find it in the Menu > Wi-Fi Settings > Advanced Wi-Fi Settings > Channel Finder.  If the light is still yellow, try placing the node closer to the primary node.  For more information on the Channel Finder feature, click here.
