How to restrict Internet access on specific devices using your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account

The Parental Controls Tool in your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account allows you to restrict Internet access for users within your network.  For an overview, click here.

Why do you need it?

In a smart connected home wherein many devices are connected to the network, you can control which devices are allowed to have Internet access.  Feel secure with having able to control which of your children’s gadgets are allowed to access the Internet with the Parental Controls Tool.

This article will guide you on how to restrict Internet access on specific devices in your network through your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account.  To learn how, follow the steps below:

Step 1:
Access your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account.  For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Click on Parental Controls in the left panel.
 


Step 3:
Select the device that you want to restrict access from the Restrict Internet access on list.

NOTE:  Make sure that the Parental Controls Tool is enabled.

Step 4:
Select Always in the Block Internet access box.

QUICK TIP:  Selecting Never will allow all Internet access for a specific device.  Selecting Specific Times, however, will only restrict a certain device for a specific time.

Step 5:
Click the Ok button at the bottom of the window.

You should now have successfully restricted Internet access on specific devices using Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account..
