Manually setting up the Linksys Wireless-AC and Wireless-AX Range Extenders

This article will show you how to manually set up the Linksys Wireless-AC and Wireless-AX Range Extenders. 
 
NOTE:  In the steps below, a Linksys RE7350 on factory defaults was used.

 
Step 1:
Plug the range extender into a wall outlet and wait for the light to start blinking orange. 

Step 2:
Connect a computer or a mobile device to the range extender's default WiFi name, which is Linksys Extender Setup – xxx.
 
NOTE:  The xxx represents the last three characters of your range extender's MAC address which is located on the label at the back of the device. 

 
Step 3:
Open a web browser and enter "192.168.1.1", "http://extender.linksys.com" or "http://RE7350-xxx" (the xxx represents the last three characters of the range extender’s MAC address).  Then click or tap the Manual Setup link on the range extender's setup page.

Step 4:
Enter the default password which is admin then click or tap Login.

Step 5:
On the Wireless > Basic Settings page, click or tap Change to select the mode you need for your network in the Operation Mode section.  For more information on the type of modes, click here.

NOTE:  The default mode when choosing Manual Setup is Wireless Range Extender.  

Step 6:
Configure your manual settings such as the WiFi name and password for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

Click or tap User-added image to select your desired security settings for the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band.

Step 7:
Click or tap Save when you’re done to apply the changes.

 
NOTE:  If you need to run the setup wizard instead, just reset the range extender and access it again.
