Resetting the Linksys MR9000X to factory default settings

When your router is reset to factory default settings, all the settings that you have customized such as the Wi-Fi name, password, and security type will be erased.  This article will show you how to reset your Linksys MR9000X AC3000 Tri-Band Gaming Mesh WiFi 5 Router to factory default settings.

There are two ways to reset your router.  Select from the options below to learn how:

 
Manual Reset
Software Reset


Manual Reset

Step 1:
Make sure that your Linksys MR9000X is connected to a power source and turned ON.

Step 2:
To reset the router to its factory defaults, press and hold the reset button at the back of the Linksys MR9000X.  Wait until you see a bright red flash, followed by three to four quick red faded pulses then another bright red flash.  Release the reset button after.


Software Reset

Step 1:
Log in to the Linksys MR9000X’s web interface.  To learn how, click 
here.
 
Step 2:
Click the Troubleshooting tab.
 
Step 3:
Under Troubleshooting, click the Diagnostics tab.

Step 4:
Click the Reset link under Factory reset.  This will reset your router to factory default settings.

Click Yes to reset the router.

You have successfully reset the Linksys MR9000X.
