Overview of the WiFi feature on the Linksys FGW3000

The WiFi feature on the Linksys FGW3000 5G WiFi 6 Router allows you to view the status and configure the settings of your WiFi.  This feature has the following settings: 
 
NOTE:  Make sure your computer is connected through an ethernet cable (or via WiFi) to the Linksys FGW3000.

Status 

This page shows you the current status of your WiFi settings.  This is a read-only page.  To make changes, go to the Settings page of the WiFi feature.

When a radio band is disabled, you will see the status below.  In the example below, the WiFi 5GHz is disabled.

Settings

Click on either WiFi 2.4GHz or the WiFi 5GHz to make changes.

Below are the WiFi configuration options of your 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band.

NOTE:  Make sure to click on Apply, every time you update the settings.
 
Wireless SettingsDescription
Interface Status
Allows you to enable or disable the WiFi.  By default, the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio bands are enabled.

Once a radio band is disabled, the WiFi icon on the upper-left hand side of the page will be greyed out as shown below:

Network Name (SSID)
The default WiFi names are Linksysxxxxx (2.4 GHz) and Linksysxxxxx_5GHz (5 GHz), where xxxxx is the last five characters of the router’s serial number.

You can choose to use a different WiFi name for each radio band or use the same name for both.

Change your WiFi name, enter the new name on the field provided and click on Apply.  You will need to reconnect your devices to the new WiFi name.
Radio ChannelAuto is the default and recommended option.
Working Mode
The default and recommended options are 802.11axg for 2.4 GHz and 802.11axa for 5 GHz radio.

Bandwidth
Below are the default and recommended options for both radio bands.

SSID BroadcastAllows you to enable or disable the broadcast of your WiFi.   It is enabled by default.
AP IsolationIt is enabled by default.
SecurityDescription
Authentication
The default setting is WPA2â„¢-Personal.
 
NOTE:  If you change a security setting, make sure your WiFi devices support the new security type before you apply the change.  Otherwise some clients may not be able to connect if they don’t support a specific security type.

Encryption
The default setting is AES when WPA2-Personal is selected.  Below are the options for Encryption.

Key Pass Phrase
It is the password for WiFi.  The default key is located on the product label at the bottom of the router.

To change the password, enter a new key into the field and click on Apply.  You will need to reconnect your devices using the new password.

Enable WPS
With Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) enabled, you have the option to connect either through a physical button or through the web interface of the router.  To learn more, click here.
