Troubleshooting the Linksys FGW3000

This article will help you troubleshoot some issues you may encounter with the Linksys FGW3000 5G WiFi 6 Router.

1.  How can I tell if my router has a connection to LTE or 5G network?

Answer: 

Check the status of the LTE or 5G lights.  If the lights are OFF, turn OFF the router and check if a SIM card is installed.

NOTE:  If the SIM card is installed properly but you're still experiencing issues, contact the vendor of the SIM card.

2.  What should I do when the dashboard shows “No Service”?

Answer: 

Turn OFF the router and check if the SIM card is installed.  Either install a SIM card or remove it and insert the card again, then power ON the router, and check if the LTE light is solid blue.

3.  Can I change my WiFi name and/or WiFi password?

Answer: 

Yes, simply log in to the router’s web interface and make the changes.  You will need to reconnect all your WiFi devices to the new WiFi settings.  To learn how to change the WiFi settings, click

4.  How do I change my router’s default administrative password?

5.  What type of SIM card can I use?

Answer: 

The router supports Nano SIM card.

6.  What can I connect to the two ethernet ports located on the back of the router?

Answer: 

You can connect additional wired clients like a laptop/desktop or even a switch.

7.  Can I use the USB port on the router?

Answer: 

No.  The USB port is non-functional and used for debugging purposes only.

8.  How do I reset the router?

Answer: 

You can hold down the reset button located on the bottom of the router for about 10 seconds or reset it from the router’s web interface.  The blue bar will light up when the reset has been performed and turns OFF once the bootup process begins.  Wait until you see the POWER2.4GHz and 5GHz lights turn solid blue before you set up or access the router again.  To know more, click

9.  What should I do when the Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) isn’t working?

Answer: 

WPS is only supported if you are using WPA2™ Personal, WPA™/WPA2 Personal Mixed Mode. WPA2 Personal is the default setting. 

If you have changed the security type to any other type, you will need to enter the WiFi password on the client device in order to connect.

10.  Does the router support auto firmware updates?

Answer: 

Yes.  You can log in to the router’s web interface and click Check New Firmware to check if a new firmware is available.  If there is a new firmware, you can proceed with the update.  To know more, click

11.  Can I connect my router into an upstream connection such as another upstream router or network without a SIM card?

Answer: 

No.  In order to get an internet connection, you must use a 5G/LTE SIM card.  The LAN ports are to connect client devices such as computers, laptops and more.
