Changing the WiFi Settings of the Linksys FGW3000

It is important to change the basic WiFi settings of your Linksys FGW3000 5G WiFi 6 Router to establish a unique and secure connection.  A protected WiFi prevents unwanted access to personal information.

Follow the steps below to change the WiFi settings of the Linksys FGW3000.

Before you begin:
  • Make sure your computer is connected through an ethernet cable (or via WiFi) to the Linksys FGW3000.
  • Changing your WiFi settings will disconnect all wireless devices from your router.  You must reconnect them using the new settings.
 
Step 1:
Access the Linksys FGW3000 dashboard.  To know how, click here.

Step 2:
On the left side of the dashboard, click WiFi > Settings.

Step 3:
Choose on either WiFi 2.4GHz or WiFi 5GHz to make changes.

Step 4:
Under Wireless Settings, enter your desired WiFi name on the Network Name (SSID) field. 

QUICK TIP:  You can choose to use a different WiFi name for each radio band or use the same name for both.

Step 5:
Under Security, enter a new WiFi password on the Key Pass Phrase field.

Step 6:
Click Apply to save the changes.
