SETUP AND INSTALLATION
 
1.  What are the requirements in setting up the Linksys E5600?
 
Below are the requirements for setting up the Linksys E5600:
  • A mobile device or computer
  • An active internet connection
  • Browser requirements for setup:
    • Latest version of Google Chromeâ„¢, Firefox®, Safari® (for Mac® or iPad®), Microsoft Edge® or Internet Explorer® version 8 or newer
  • Latest firmware (with EasyMesh support)
  • We recommend a maximum of one Linksys E5600 child node to extend your WiFi.
 
2.  What is the difference between a parent node and child node?
 
A parent node is a Linksys E5600 that is connected to your modem while a child node is another EasyMesh product (it is highly recommended to use another Linksys E5600) that will be used to extend your WiFi.
 
3.  How do I set up the Linksys E5600?
 
To set up a Linksys E5600 parent node using the setup wizard, click here.  To set it up manually, click here.
 
4.  What are the default settings of the Linksys E5600?
 
Below are the default settings of the Linksys E5600:
 
  • IP address - 192.168.1.1
NOTE:  If there is an IP address conflict with an existing upstream connection, you can also try using 192.168.11.1.
  • Router password - admin  
  • WiFi name - Linksysxxxxx where xxxxx represents the last five digits of the serial number
  • Default Guest Network - Linksysxxxxx-guest where xxxxx represents the last five digits of the serial number while the default Guest password is guest
 
5.  I just updated my router with the latest firmware that supports EasyMesh.  Is EasyMesh automatically enabled?
 
No.  If your router is already set up, you need to enable the EasyMesh feature in order to add another EasyMesh child node to extend your WiFi.  For more information, click here.
 
6.  How do I set up a Linksys E5600 child node?

7.  I have another Linksys E5600 that I was using previously.  Can I add it as a child node?
 
Yes, but first make sure that you have installed the latest firmware that supports EasyMesh.  You may have to manually update the firmware or if the router is still online check if there is a firmware available.  For instructions, click here.  If the router was used as a parent node, you will need to reset it.

8.  How do I turn ON or OFF the EasyMesh feature?

9.  How do I access the Linksys E5600 web interface?

10.  If I do not have an additional Linksys EasyMesh child node to extend my WiFi, should I keep the EasyMesh feature turned ON?
 
No.  If you do not have a child node to extend your WiFi, it is highly recommended to turn OFF the feature.  For instructions, click here.
Yes. For the Linksys router to work with Starlink, you will need a Starlink ethernet adapter which you can find in the Starlink shop. No.


3.  What is Beamforming technology?

Beamforming technology is a radio wave technology that allows a router to transmit radio signal in the direction of the connected devices, thus creating a stronger, faster and more reliable WiFi communication.

4.  What WiFi security type does the Linksys E5600 support?


The Linksys E5600 supports the following security types:
 
  • With EasyMesh enabled - WPA2â„¢ Personal
  • With EasyMesh disabled - WPA2 Personal, WPA3â„¢ Personal

5.  How many guests can connect to the Guest Network?

Up to 10 guests can connect to the Guest Network.

6.  What is EasyMesh?

EasyMesh allows you to extend your WiFi by using additional Linksys Easymesh routers.

 
TROUBLESHOOTING
 
1.  How can I reset the Linksys E5600 to factory defaults?
 
You can reset the Linksys E5600 to factory defaults through the router’s web interface or using the Reset button.  To know how, click here.
 
2.  How do I know if I have successfully reset the Linksys E5600?
 
From a WiFi computer, wait until the default WiFi name appears in the list of available WiFi.  The default WiFi name is Linksysxxxxx where xxxxx represents the last five digits of the serial number.
 
3.  I am unable to add another Linksys EasyMesh child node to my network.  What should I do?
 
There are a few reasons why you are running into this problem.
 
  • The parent node does not have EasyMesh turned ON.  If this is the case, you need to turn ON the feature.  For instructions, click here.
  • The parent node does not have the latest firmware that supports EasyMesh.  For instructions on how to update the firmware, click here.
  • The child node you are trying to add is not on the latest firmware that supports EasyMesh.  You may need to manually update the firmware.  After you have installed the latest firmware, try adding the child node again.  For more information, click here.  For a list of Linksys EasyMesh-certified products, click here.
 
4.  I don’t have an EasyMesh option in the router’s web interface.  What should I do?
 
The EasyMesh feature is found in Configuration > Wi-Fi > Basic Wireless Settings.  If you don’t have this option, you need to update the firmware on your router.  For instructions, click here.
 
5.  Can I add a Linksys Velop product or Linksys Mesh router as a child node?
 
No.  Linksys Velop nodes and Mesh routers are not compatible with Linksys EasyMesh products.
 
6.  I am getting an error when I try to enable the Guest Network with the EasyMesh turned ON.  What should I do?
 
The Guest Network is currently not supported when EasyMesh is turned ON.  To use the Guest Network, you need to turn OFF EasyMesh.  For instructions, click here.
 
7.  I am getting an error when trying to enable Wireless MAC filter.  What should I do?
 
The Wireless MAC filtering feature is currently not supported when EasyMesh is turned ON.  If you are not using the EasyMesh feature, you can turn it OFF.  For instructions, click here.
 
8.  My Linksys mesh router isn't working with my ISP's 5G router.  What should I do?
 
For the Linksys mesh router to work with a 5G router, your ISP must provide a 5G router with an ethernet port for connection to the parent node.
 
FIRMWARE UPGRADE
 
1.  How do I upgrade the firmware of my Linksys E5600?

Yes.  To enable it, log in to your router and go to Configuration > Administration > Firmware Upgrade and make sure the box is checked.
