I am unable to add a child node to my StarHub Linksys MX4200 parent node.

Scenario:  I am unable to add a child node to my StarHub Linksys MX4200 parent node.  What should I do?

If you have a Linksys MX4200 parent node that was purchased directly from StarHub, and is already set up and working, and you are now trying to add a child node that was NOT purchased from StarHub and are not able to add the child node, most likely the child node does not support DFS.

Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) is enabled by default on the Linksys MX4200 Series nodes obtained from StarHub.  DFS enables WiFi to use the 5 GHz frequencies that are generally reserved for radar systems.  The benefit of using DFS channels are less WiFi interference and better WiFi performance.  If there are no radar systems nearby or you are located in a saturated WiFi area, your neighbors may not be using a router with DFS support, therefore you could benefit from using DFS channels for increased 5 GHz throughput/speeds and better WiFi performance.

If your child node was not purchased directly from StarHub, most likely that child node does not support DFS.  The solution is to turn OFF the DFS feature on the Linksys MX4200 parent node or you can also contact StarHub and purchase another node from the ISP.  To turn OFF DFS, follow the steps below:
