Setting up the Linksys Mesh node provided by PCCW ISP

This article will teach you how to set up the Linksys MX4050 and SPNMX56PW for PCCW subscribers in Hong Kong only. PCCW handles the node's initial configuration. If you need to reset your nodes to factory defaults, this article will guide you in re-establishing the setup.

Before you begin:

  • Write down the WiFi name and password (case sensitive) located on the product label.
  • Parent router - The parent router or node is the router connected to your modem.
  • Child node - The child node is an additional Linksys Velop Mesh node to extend your WiFi network (e.g., Linksys MX4050 or SPNMX56PW).
  • Automatic setup support - This node supports Automatic Configuration Server (ACS) setup. This means that once it is plugged into PCCW’s equipment, it will automatically begin to set up once an internet connection is detected. Do not attempt to set up the node with the Linksys app.

Directions

1. Power ON the node and connect an ethernet cable to the Internet port on the node and the other end to your PCCW equipment.

2. The node will boot up with a solid purple light which means it’s ready for setup.

3. After a few minutes, the status light will begin to flash in white, which means automatic setup has begun.

4. Once the status light turns solid blue, the network is online and ready to use. You can now connect your wireless clients to your WiFi network. The WiFi credentials are located on the product label.

You can now add child nodes to your network.
