Configuring the VoIP feature of the Linksys FGW5500

The voice feature is disabled by default. After you enable the Voice feature, the top light on your router will turn ON.

This article will show you how to configure the VoIP feature of the Linksys FGW5500.

 
1. Access the Linksys FGW5500's web interface.

2. On the left side of the dashboard click on Voice.

3. Click on Voice Setting.

4. The voice feature is disabled by default. Select VoIP.

5. Enter your VoIP setting then click Apply.

Click on General Settings to expand additional settings.

Service Domain: VoIP

Registration: This part includes Account for validation and Server Settings for services.

Account: Username, User Account, Password, Password Confirm, and Display Name are for VoIP service registration. It requires contacting your internet service provider to get the credentials.

Server Settings: Contact your internet service provider to get the right configurations on IP Version, User Domain, Registrar Address, Outbound Proxy Address, Registrar Port, Outbound Proxy Port, RTP Port Range Start, and RTP Port Range End.


6. After you have applied your settings, the top light on the router will turn ON. If the light does not turn ON go to Status > Telephony Status and make sure it shows Registered.

If it shows Unregistered, double-check your VoIP settings. Make sure to click Apply to save your settings.
