Overview of the WiFi feature on the Linksys FGW5500

This article will give you an overview of the WiFi feature of the Linksys FGW5500.

Basic

In this section, you can change the basic WiFi settings or enable the Guest network for each
radio.

WiFi password requirements
  • 10-63 characters
  • Contain four cases of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters such as `~!@#$%^&*()-_=+\|[{}];:'",<.>/? space
  • Cannot contain a continuously repeated occurrence of characters

The default Encryption is WPA2-PSK/WPA3-SAE + AES. Below are the supported Wi-Fi security options.

Advanced

For advanced users, you can change the Advanced settings of your WiFi.

WPS

By default, Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) is disabled. To use the WPS feature, check to enable both boxes and click Apply.

Once the feature is enabled, you can start a WPS connection by either clicking on Start or pressing the WPS button on the back of the router. The WPS (middle) light on the router will begin to flash for about 2 minutes.

Connected Client

On this page, you will see the list of connected clients on your WiFi.

Neighbor AP

Once you access this page, the router will scan and detect neighboring access points. Click on the Refresh button to rescan.
