Resetting and restoring the Linksys FGW5500

This article will guide you on how to reset and restore the settings of your Linksys FGW5500.

There are two ways to reset your router. Select from the options below to know how:

Manual reset
Software reset

Manual reset

1. Hold down the reset button located at the bottom of the router for about five seconds.

2. Observe the lights of the Linksys FGW5500. All three lights will start blinking blue at the same time as an indication that the router is properly resetting.

3. Wait until the lights have stopped then set up your router again.
 

Software reset

1. Access the Linksys FGW5500's web interface.

2. On the left side of the dashboard, click on Management.

3. Click on Configuration.

4. Click on Restore Factory Settings.

5. A warning message will prompt, click Yes to reset the router.

6. Observe the lights of the Linksys FGW5500. All three lights will start blinking blue at the same time as an indication that the router is properly resetting.

7. Once you have successfully reset your router, you will need to set up the router again.
