Configuring the Parental Control feature of the Linksys FGW5500

This article will show you how to configure the Parental Control feature using the Linksys FGW5500.

1. Access the Linksys FGW5500's web interface.

2. On the left side of the dashboard, click on Advanced.

3. Click on Parental Control.

4. Click on Blacklist and enter the necessary configuration.

  • Name – Create a name for the client.
  • Selection – Click the drop-down menu to pick an option.
  • MAC Address – This section automatically populates as soon as you pick an option from the Selection menu.
  • Block Time – Allows you to block the client by a time frame. Click the EDIT button to make changes. To block by time, simply select the squares in which you want to block and then click Continue.
 

 
  • Block Traffic – Allows you to block certain websites or block all traffic. To block a website, click the EDIT button under Block Traffic then select Block Web Site from the drop-down menu.

Enter a URL or a keyword and then click Continue once done. To remove an entry from this list, simply click on the Del button alongside the URL or Keyword field.

  • Add – Allows you to block more websites. The rule will appear in the list once it is added.

5. Make sure to click Apply at the bottom to save your settings.
 
You have now successfully configured the Parental Control feature of your router.
