2.  How does Client Isolation work?

When Client Isolation is enabled, it prevents wireless clients from communicating to each other within the same SSID and same radio.  On the other hand, when it is disabled, clients connected to the same SSID and same radio band will be able to communicate to each other.  To know more when using the Linksys Cloud Manager 1.0, click
here.  For Linksys Cloud Manager 2.0, click here.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1.  Why is the access point showing offline in the Linksys Cloud Manager and how do I fix this?

The access point will display offline due to one of the following reasons:

  • The access point is down or is not connected to the internet.
  • The access point was reset.
  • The Linksys Cloud Manager was disabled or re-enabled (for Linksys Cloud Manager 1.0 only).

To fix these, follow the troubleshooting tips below:

For access points being managed through the Linksys Cloud Manager 1.0

  • Confirm the status of the access point by logging in to its local interface and checking the IP address settings.  You can make changes as needed.
  • If the Linksys Cloud Manager is enabled, then you can check the LAN settings or perform a ping test or check the network connections.  Once the access point reaches the internet via TCP/8002 or TCP/443, it should get the configuration in less than 3 minutes (the time needed by the access point to apply the configuration).
  • If the button at the top right-hand corner of the local interface shows Enable Cloud Manager, this means that the Linksys Cloud Manager is disabled.  You need to enable it then delete the access point from the cloud.  To know how, click here.  Once deleted, add the access point back into the cloud.  To learn how, click here.

For access points being managed through the Linksys Cloud Manager 2.0

  • Confirm the status of the access point by logging in to its local interface and checking the IP address settings.  You can make changes as needed.
  • Try deleting the access point.  To know how, click here.  Once deleted, add the access point back into the Linksys Cloud Manager.   To learn how, click here.

3.  There are no SSIDs in the wireless SSID slot to select for the access point.  What could be the problem?

here.  For Linksys Cloud Manager 2.0, click here.

4.  How do I change the settings of an SSID?

here for instructions when using the Linksys Cloud Manager 1.0.  For Linksys Cloud Manager 2.0, click here.

5.  How do I reset the access point to factory defaults?

To reset the device to factory default settings, press and hold the reset button for longer than 15 seconds or until you see that the indicator light is blinking red.
