What is Routing Information Protocol (RIP)

The Routing Information Protocol (RIP) is a protocol classified by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for routing traffic among networks and determining the best route for data packets.

What Linksys Gateways are supported?

Both versions of the protocol, RIP v1 and v2, are supported in all of the Linksys X-series Gateways, which include the Linksys X1000, X2000, X3000, X3500, and X6200.
 
NOTE:  This excludes the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Modem Routers, XAC1200 and XAC1900.
