2. Does the Guest Network support dual-band?

Yes.

3. What are the supported WAN modes?

The supported WAN modes are DHCP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP and Bridge Mode.

4. What is the maximum wireless data rate speed?

The maximum wireless data speed is up to 300 Mbps for each band.

5. Does the Linksys EA2750 have Parental Controls?

Yes.

6. What is MAC Address Clone and what is it used for?

Some Internet Service Providers (ISP), especially Cable companies, require you to register the MAC Address of the modem, router, or Ethernet adapter of the computer in order to access the Internet.  If you do not wish to re-register the MAC Address currently registered with your ISP, you may assign the MAC Address you have currently registered with your ISP to the router using the MAC Address Clone feature.

If you want to clone the MAC Address of the computer that you are using to configure the router, click the Clone My MAC Address button in the router's web-based setup page.  The router will then automatically detect your computer’s MAC Address, so you do not have to call your ISP to change the registered MAC Address to the router’s MAC Address.

NOTE:  It is recommended to use the computer registered with the ISP to enable the MAC Address Clone feature of the router.

7. What is Port Forwarding?

The Port Forwarding screen allows you to set up public services on your network such as web servers, FTP servers, email servers, or other specialized Internet applications.

8. What is Port Triggering?

Port Triggering will open ports based on the incoming port specified.  Check with your software application to find out what needs to be entered in these fields.

9. What is Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and what is it used for?

The DMZ screen allows one local user to be exposed to the Internet for use of a special-purpose service such as Internet gaming and videoconferencing.  DMZ hosting forwards all the ports at the same time to one computer.  Port Forwarding is more secure because it only opens the ports you want to have opened, while DMZ hosting opens all the ports of one computer, exposing the computer to the Internet.

10. Can I print a shared file in my computer while I’m connected to the Guest network?

The Guest network is a secured network that provides only Internet access to wireless devices with the router limiting communication with other computers.  It has a different password from the main network and does not allow file and printer access.

11. What is Diagnostics and what is it used for?

Diagnostics is a feature used to test your network.  It uses ping and traceroute to check network connectivity.

12. What is Wireless MAC Filter and what is it used for?

Wireless access can be filtered by using the MAC Addresses of the wireless devices transmitting within your network’s radius.  To learn how to enable Wireless MAC Filter
using the Linksys cloud account, click here.

13. What is UPnP?

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) allows Windows to automatically configure the router for various Internet applications, such as gaming and videoconferencing.

14. Can I add or create a Game and an Application to the Priority list that are using the same port numbers?

No.  You can only add either but not both at the same time.
