Accessing the WAP300N's web-based setup page

The Linksys Wireless-N Access Point with Selectable Dual-Band (WAP300N) is a selectable dual-band wireless access point based on IEEE 802.11n draft 2.0 and optimized for video transmission.  It can operate either in 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz radio bands, and is fully backward compatible.

To configure the access point’s settings and control functionalities you need to access its web-based setup page.  This article will guide you on how to access your WAP300N’s web-based setup page.

Things to remember before proceeding:

  • The default username and password of the WAP300N is "admin" and the IP address is 10.100.1.1.  If the access point is connected to an existing network, the IP address will change automatically according to the IP segment of the network.
  • If you are using a wireless computer, you can temporarily hardwire it to the WAP300N to be able to access the web-based setup page.  If this is not possible, just make sure that the WAP300N is connected with an Ethernet cable to the router.
  • If the WAP300N is already configured with your router, check its IP address through the DHCP client table of the router to be able to use it in accessing its web-based setup page.

Step 1:
Open a web browser then enter the IP Address of the WAP300N on the Address bar.

NOTE:  In this example, we used 192.168.1.2 as the WAP300N’s Local Area Network (LAN) IP Address.

Step 2:
When the User Name and Password prompt appears, enter the access point’s log-in details.

NOTE:  The default Password is "admin".  If you created a personalized password during setup, use that instead.  You can also press the Reset button for 10 seconds to reset the device to its factory default settings if you forgot the password.
