Setting up the Linksys Dual-Band EasyMesh WiFi Router using the setup wizard

The Linksys Dual-Band EasyMesh™ WiFi Router lets you enjoy the power of WiFi® technology.  It delivers enhanced speed, range, and security for all your networking needs.  It features EasyMesh which allows your router to add other Linksys EasyMesh nodes to extend your WiFi and be compatible with other EasyMesh-supported devices.

Before you begin:
  • Take note of the default WiFi name and password of your Linksys EasyMesh router located on the label at the bottom part of the router.  The WiFi password is case-sensitive.
  • A parent node is the router connected to the modem.
  • A child node is another EasyMesh node that will be used to extend your WiFi.
NOTE:  Make sure the node is on the latest firmware.  For instructions, click here.
  • The EasyMesh feature is automatically enabled when you run and complete the setup wizard.
  • Make sure you have a working internet connection.
  • Power ON your modem and connect an ethernet cable from the modem to the internet port of the Linksys EasyMesh router.  Wait until the power light is solid blue.  If you are replacing an existing router, make sure to disconnect, turn OFF, and remove the old one.
  • Connect the power adapter to the router and wait until the power light is solid blue.
