Setting up the Linksys E9450-SG for Singtel as a parent node using the Setup Wizard

To make sure your Singtel Optical Network setup operates, it is essential to use the Setup Wizard in configuring your Linksys E9450-SG for Singtel Dual-Band Easy Mesh WiFi 6 Router.

NOTE:  There is no option to bypass the setup wizard, you must complete the setup wizard before making any changes in the web interface.

Before you begin, take note of the following:

  • You must use the setup wizard to set up your router, otherwise, the router will not work.
  • You can either use a wired computer or a WiFi device (e.g., a laptop, tablet, or smartphone) to set up the router.
  • To set up the Linksys E9450-SG for Singtel using a WiFi device, you first need to remember the default WiFi name and password of the router.  These are located on the router’s product label.  The default WiFi names of the router are Linksysxxxx (where xxxx represents the last five digits of the router’s serial number).
  • The Linksys E9450-SG for Singtel that is connected to your ONR/ONT equipment will become your parent node.  If you will be extending your WiFi network with additional E9450 models, these are called child nodes.
  • Determine if you have Singtel Optical Network Terminal (ONT) or Singtel Optical Network Router (ONR) and connect your hardware based on the following scenario:

For Singtel Optical Network Terminal (ONT)

NOTE:  The Singtel box will show Optical Network Terminal (ONT).

Connect the Linksys E9450-SG for Singtel to your ONT using an ethernet cable to the LAN port.

For Singtel Optical Network Router (ONR)

NOTE:
The Singtel box will show Optical Network Router (ONR).  Some ONR equipment may be on Bridge mode.  For advance users, to determine if your ONR is on Bridge mode, (when your computer is connected to the ONR without Bridge mode) you will get a public IP address range.  If ONR is not in Bridge mode, your computer will get a private IP address.

Connect one end of the ethernet cable into the yellow-labeled internet (WAN) port of the Linksys E9450-SG for Singtel and the other end to the ethernet (LAN) port of the ONR.
