What is the Linksys AE1000?

The Linksys AE1000 High Performance Wireless-N Adapter connects your Windows-based computer to your wireless network for Internet access.  It supports Wi-Fi Protected Access2 (WPA2) encryption which serves as protection for your data and privacy.  For information on setting up the AE1000 on your computer, click here.

The AE1000 is a selectable Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter which detects both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks simultaneously broadcasted by your dual-band router.  You can ONLY connect to one (1) network at a time.  If you’re currently connected to the 2.4 GHz network, you may switch and connect to a 5 GHz network by disconnecting first from the 2.4 GHz wireless network.
