Installing the Linksys USB control center (USB Printer Utility) for the Linksys E8400 using a Mac computer

The Linksys USB control center is an optional software that you can download for your Linksys E8400. It helps manage and monitor the use of the USB printers connected to the USB ports at the back of your router.
 
Before you proceed, make sure your computer is compatible with the Linksys USB control center. Download the utility appropriate to your computer.

1. Double-click USB Control Center Installer to start the installation.
 
 

2. When prompted, click Open to proceed.
 
 

3. Click Continue.
 
 

4. Click the Change Install Location button to select the folder where you want to install the Linksys USB Control Center software. Once done, click Install to proceed.
 
 

5. Provide your Mac® computer’s credentials and then click the Install Software button.
 
 

6. Click on the Continue Installation button when prompted.
 

 
You will receive a notification message that the Linksys USB Control Center software is being installed on your computer.
 
 

7. Click Restart.
 
 

After the installation process is complete, click the USB Control Center file to install the printer so that it can communicate with your router and other devices in your network.
 
Your printer has a default name assigned to it by the manufacturer, for example, Canon Pixma MP490. If you've renamed the printer to something like Kitchen Printer, that name will appear instead.
