How to change the LAN IP address on the Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique identifier which consists of four sets of numbers from 0 to 255, separated by three dots.  This is required by all devices in the network to connect to the internet.  By default, the IP address of a Linksys router is 192.168.1.1.  To change a router’s IP address, follow the steps below.

Before you begin, make sure that your computer is connected to the LAN port of the router you want to configure.

 
Step 1:
Access your router’s web interface.  For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Click the Configuration tab.

Step 3:
Click Connectivity.

Step 4:
Click Local Network.

Enter your preferred IP Address.

Step 6:
Scroll down and click Save.

 
You have successfully changed the LAN IP address of your router.
