Backup and Restore configuration of the Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router

The Backup and Restore configuration feature of the Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router allows you to back up all configurations made to the router.  In cases when you need to reset the router to factory default settings, you will be able to restore your previous configuration using the backup configuration file.  This will save you time by not going through the process of reconfiguring the router manually.

Follow the steps below to back up and restore configuration of the Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router:

Creating a Backup File Configuration

Step 1:
Log in to the Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router's web interface.  For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Click the Configuration tab.

Step 3:
Click Administration.

Step 4:
Click Backup.

Click BackUp button. 

 
NOTE:  Take note of the current router password.  It will be the same password that would be applied once you restore using the backup configuration file.

Restoring the Backup File Configuration
 
Step 1:
Log in to the Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router's web interface.  For instructions, click

Step 2:
Click the Configuration tab.

Step 3:
Click Administration.

Step 4:
Click Backup.

Step 5:
Click Choose File, locate and select backup configuration file, and then click Start to Restore.

 
NOTE:  When the restoring process is completed, the router will automatically reboot, which may take a few minutes.
