SPECIAL FEATURES

Does it come with software for initial installation?
Yes. The Linksys RE2000 v2 comes with installation software in its setup CD.
Does Linksys RE2000 v2 support Quality of Service (QoS)?Yes.

Use diagnostic tests (Ping and Traceroute) to allow you to check the connections of your network devices, including connection to the internet. You can do this by going to Administration > Diagnostics on the web interface.
Can I add more than one Linksys RE2000 v2 to my existing WiFi network?Yes. But since the Linksys RE2000 v2 only gets the WiFi signal from your main router or access point, adding multiple range extenders can provide you with an even lower signal, thus, giving lesser bandwidth to your wireless computers or devices that you are going to connect to these additional extenders.
Do I have to disconnect and reconnect to different SSIDs when I go anywhere in my house if I am using multiple range extenders? No. Even though you are using multiple access points or extenders in your network, you can still stay connected to any one of them as you move around the house since they would be configured using the same wireless settings.

TROUBLESHOOTING
My router is properly configured, why can’t my range extender detect or find any WiFi network?Check the following:

If the range extender is powered ON and its power light is solid.
If it is within the WiFi range of your router.
If there are signal obstructions between your router and your range extender. Try transferring your range extender to another location. Avoid placing your range extender near metal objects, masonry walls, and reflective surfaces such as mirrors.
Your WiFi name (SSID) may be hidden or disabled. As a result, the setup wizard can't see that it's available.
What settings do I need to prepare for the Linksys RE2000 v2 setup? Before you start the setup process, make sure that you have the following:

Active 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi network connection - The range extender will detect and work with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. Active dual-band networks will require the use of dual-band routers.

WiFi Network Name (SSID) - If you have a dual-band router, make sure that the network name of your 2.4 GHz network is different from that of the 5 GHz network.

Password or Security Key - For better connection and performance, it is recommended to use the following security types: Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA)2/WPA Mixed Mode, WPA2 Personal, and WPA Personal.
On the Status page, one of the WiFi bands is grayed out but why is it still showing data? The WiFi radio will still send and receive data even if it is not connected to a network. Your range extender will always be on standby to connect to your network anytime it will be available. So, your range extender will still get signals since it is doing site surveys continuously.
