Upgrading the Linksys WAPT1200AC’s firmware

Firmware updates are bug fixes and functionality enhancements for the Linksys WAPT1200AC AC1200 Wi-Fi Access Point.  It has an Auto Firmware Update feature which automatically updates the access point whenever there is a new firmware available.
 
To upgrade the Linksys WAPT1200AC’s firmware, follow the steps below:
 
Step 1:
Access your Linksys WAPT1200AC’s web-based setup page.  To know how, click here.
 
Step 2:
You will be prompted for an administrative Password.  If you have changed your password, enter your customized password.  Otherwise, enter the default “admin” in the appropriate field then click Login.

Step 3:
On the web-based setup page, click Firmware Upgrade under Administration.

Step 4:
There are two (2) methods in upgrading the firmware.  You can select Automatic update or Manual update to upgrade the firmware.  Choose the method you would like to perform below:
 
Automatic update
Manual update
 
Automatic update
 
The Linksys WAPT1200AC will automatically detect if there is a new firmware
available.  If there is a new version available it will display the new firmware version number.  Click the Update now button to start the upgrade process. 
 
IMPORTANT:  Wait for the upgrade to finish.  DO NOT powercycle the Linksys WAPT1200AC while it is performing the upgrade.

NOTE:  If you would like for future firmware files to automatically update, select the Auto update checkbox.
 
Manual update
 
IMPORTANT:  Before you proceed with manually upgrading the Linksys WAPT1200AC’s firmware, ensure to first download the latest firmware file from the
Linksys Support Site.
 
Step 1:
To manually update the firmware, click Select a file and select the firmware file that you have downloaded, then click Open.

Step 2:
Click Save.

Step 3:
Click Start Upgrade and wait for the upgrade to finish.  DO NOT powercycle the Linksys WAPT1200AC while it is performing the upgrade.
